So I've been doing a report for how fantasy games incorporate history into it. Wiz will be part of it, and its part will be based on how the worlds within are references to both nations and time periods[as well as a couple of shows/movies] Here is what I got so far, but if you think I'm wrong, call me out with your own opinion.[Not counting Wizard City]
Krok:Egypt during the Expedition in the 1800s.
Marleybone: Greater London during the 1800s, particularly around the Great Potato Famine in Ireland.[Might explain the cats, which are also Celtic in Pirate101]
Mooshu: A mix of Feudal Japan and Ming China
Dragonsypre: Russia, probably the city of Kiev, after the Mongol Invasion.
Celestia: Atlantis
Zafaria: The Congo Safaria
Avalon: Most will say Monty Python, which there are references in, but there is an ancient Celtic folklore about an island of Avalon, which may exist under a different, modern name or may not exist at all. The Sword of Kings, as well as Sir Marloy's betrayal are both references to the Folklore, as well as the Lady of the Lake.
Azteca: The Aztecs's capital [modern Mexico City]both right before and during the arrival of Europeans, but also reference to science's predications of how the dinos became extinct. This is merged into the religon that was common in the Aztec Empire, which believed sacrifices fed their primary god, who in turned used his own sacrifices to keep the world alive. Not sacrificing, according to their beliefs, would result in the world ending.
Khrysalis: This was a tough one for me, but I'll have to say Sweden, particularly during just before and during the Napoleonic Wars, under "Carlous Rex". This references in later Khrysalis, particualry in Sardonyx, where the Council is abolished[Carlous did that more or less], and the final council "member" proclaims himself despot[Carlous ruled absolute compared to the ones before him, who ruled similar to England]. In a dialogue, he says "Pray to the skies when you think of me", a almost direct quote from Carlous. Sabaton fans will probably remember that.
Polaris: A mix, but reference to Liberal/Socialist revolutions that shook monarchies. The first part of Polaris is likely Revolutionary France[Before Napoleon proclaims the Empire], the second is likely the Russian Revolution.
Mirage: Probably Perisa during the Pre-Islamic Era, roughly a hundred years before that to be exact.

All-in-all pretty spot on.

Though I would specify late 1800s for Marleybone considering the existence of electricity and the automobile. That and the Steampunk look of Marleybone tech in Celestia.

Zafaria also seems to have some architecual influences from late 1800's colonial India.

Avalon is definitely Arthurian England. Merl Ambrose is clearly based on Merlin.
