If you have 6 pips, and you use a 5 pip spell, you have a chance to get that pip refunded back. This is only for Power Pips though, and you need gear that gives pip conversion for this.

Normally when casting an odd number rank spell (3, 5, 7, 9) when you have only power pips, the spell would use all of your pips.

So say I cast Banshee (3), and I have 2 power pips(4). Banshee will use up both of my power pips without giving me a pip back.

However, with pip conversion you have a chance to get that missing pip back.

So if I have a pip conversion rating, and cast something like Banshee, I'll get my pip back, allowing me to build up pips faster.

Thank you so much. It's not as complicated as I thought it was.
