You don't "have to do" Grizzleheim. But at some point later, you will need to do it to get your higher level spells. Here is an example of some information that Professor Greyrose had posted:

Spell Quests
Every class has to complete the same spell quests to get their new spells at levels 35 and 55. Some of the new spell are upgraded spells, but don’t worry, you still get to keep your original spell! However, there are some requirements to obtain the spell quests.

Level 35 Spell Quests Requirements and Info
There are 2 requirements to meet to be able to accept the starting spell quest from Baldur Goldpaws in Olde Town, “I Know a Guy…”.
1. Being level 35
2. Having completed the quest “One in the Snout” in Mirkholm Keep

If you meet these requirements, then you can go to Baldur Goldpaws in Olde Town to get the quest “I Know a Guy…”, and then you will talk to Erik Wyrdrune in Northguard to get the quest “Thief of Spells.”

Level 55 Spell Quests Requirements and Info
There are 3 requirements to meet to be able to accept the starting spell quest from Baldur Goldpaws in Olde Town, “The Spell Trade.”
1. Being level 55
2. Having completed the quest “Su Su Sudrilund” in Sudrilund in Wintertusk, which is given by Grandmother Raven in Hrundle Fjord.
3. Having completed the quest “Thief of Spells” from Erik Wyrdrune in Northguard.

If you meet these requirements, then you can go to Baldur Goldpaws in Olde Town to get the quest “The Spell Trade”, and then you will talk to Erik Wyrdrune once again in Northguard to get the quest “The Runedown.”

And I waited until I was a higher level. Then it was much easier when I did go back to Grizzleheim. Grizzleheim is a "side" world, and you don't need it to advance in the game to go to areas like Dragonspyre and Celestia, etc.

It is a side world, and is a grind. You have to do it to get your pet I think (level 48) but it is not a mandatory world.
But, you do have to do it to get to Wintertusk, which is a fantastic world for drops, recipes, and xp.
Grind through Grizzleheim and you will be thankful.

You don't have to do it but will lose out on at least two spells and a pet if you skip it entirely.
Start Grizzleheim at around level 30 or so. You need to complete most of it for your level 35 spell. Then will need to complete it entirely to move on to Wintertusk where you will receive your next spell.

no you don't
its like wysteria (sorry if i spelled it wrong) its optional. so don't worry about it unless you want to do it.
you will always have the choice to go there to i suggest you finish dragonspyre first because its hard if your a low lvl

hoped this helped

Hi again. I found this quest tree on one of the fansites:

http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki/Quest:Grizzleheim_Quest_Tree

It lists all of the quests in Grizzleheim. You can click on any quest on that link to get more details.

And you get access to areas in Grizzleheim based on your level.

For example, you can go to Vigrid Roughland at Level 25, if you finished the previous area.

This might help too:

Quests to Return to Grizzleheim:
Level 20 – Trade Voyage (go to Northguard and Savarstaad Pass)
Level 25 – Lending a Paw (go to Vigrid Roughland)
Level 30 – Full Grizzle Jacket (go to Mirkholm Keep)
Level 40 – The King and I (talk to Valgard GoldenBlade). He gives you “The Bigger They Are” (go to Nidavellier to defeat Jotun)

Then comes Ravenscar and Wintertusk.

Hope this helped.

Other young wizards might have explained it already, if not, don't fear I will. Grizzleheim is a side quest world. You DO NOT have to do it in order to go on to another world. Though, Grizzleheim moves onto Ravenscar which then goes to Wintertusk. All worlds give a little something worth doing for. Grizzleheim has a lot of dungeons for XP. Ravenscar gets you a spell. For instance, storm's is supercharge, ice's is legion shield. Wintertusk has Nastrond which is a long dungeon that gives massive XP. Wintertusk also has many bosses which drop expensive loot to sell. So, once again, you do NOT have to do Grizzleheim, but if you do, you get amazing rewards.

Grizzlehiem and Wintertusk are optional worlds. But they lead to good stuff like...

Spells:
Talk to Baldur Goldpaws in Olde Town at level 35 and 55 for spells.

Level 35 Spell Quests Requirements for "I Know A Guy..."
  1. Being Level 35
  2. Completing the Quest "One In A Snout" in Mirkholm Keep.

Level 55 Spell Quests Requirements for "The Runedown"

  1. Being Level 55
  2. Completeing the Quest "Su Su Suldrilind in Wintertusk"

Pets!:

After your level 48 quest and you reach level 58, you can get a pet for your school!
Note: You must have complete "Su Su Suldrilind" in Wintertusk.

If so, speak with your professor and they will lead you to Wintertusk and get pets!

Exampes: Humungofrog for the Myth School, Ice Wyvern for Ice School!

Note: You can not get these quests at these levels if you had not complete the requirements.
Another Note: If your wondering how to go to Wintertusk or Grizzlehiem, speak with Merle (Please Note that if he calls you for that it is NOT fake.
