Hello!

Today I thought up a little backstory for my Wizard, and I really wanted to know if anyone else has come up with such a thing for their main and or favorite wizard they play as. Mine personally is a bit more custom, since I picked the storm school, however, I don't consider myself a storm student at all. In fact I find it quite insulting even, when I am called one, but I guess it can't be helped since the storm symbol is basically plastered on my face, haha.

Your Wizard backstory can also include what world or location your Wizard is from, its always fun to learn the backstory of others. Its also a good way to connect to your character, which in turn makes you feel more set on keeping them instead of deleting them to create an alt, which is sadly what I do to much haha, and it helps with the more Role Play side of things in the game.

Anyway, here is my Wizard's backstory with what I have left to type.

Or at least, the backstory i've put together. It's a work in progress.

James ShadowBlood is a Wizard from unknown origin (work in progress where he is from), However it is well known that he is somewhat different. He is known to be silent and solitary, never really open to making friends. Sadly, it isn't different if you are his friend, he is rude and selfish, never known to show a speck of kindess to anyone. He plays by his own rules, and he doesn't like you right off the bat if you try to boss him around, he likes to have his own freedom. Of course, there are exceptions. For example, if your in a team with him and your the leader, he is open to listening to your orders and making a battle plan, and being in a set position and doing pre-set things, its easier to order him around if your nice about it to. A little "please" and "thank you" goes a long way. (after all this game is about team-work, hehe) James is a unique Wizard in the way that, he really doesn't belong to any of the schools Ravenwood has to offer. The closest he gets to being in a school is by attending the Storm School, it seems he has an easier time trying to cast Storm spells, over any of the other options. Another thing to note is that when he is near the life school, or any other life student, It actually hurts him, and he has to get away as fast as he can. Healing spells however, react the same. They heal him, like any other student.

His signature colors are Black and Red, to serperate himself from other school colors.

His School sign is Storm..however under that Sign, is the Sign of his real school...No one really knows what it is though.

Rumors have it, that James actually has a personal teacher that is always with him wherever he goes, but no one can ever see them...maybe it has something to do with his Pets all being named the same name?...

Hehehehe...Perhaps...

James is just...a Little...

"Evil"...

hehehe....

That's all i got for his backstory for now!

Let's see if you guys have some awesome backstories! I'd love to read them!

Great idea for a topic!!! I personally have a backstory for all 5 of my wizards, but I'll only do my main one in this post XD.

Christina FairyFlame is originally Christina Rose, the princess of Avalon. She always wanted to be a knight there, but in Avalon, girls aren't allowed to be knights! Christina, being the lovely girl she is who refuses to ever give up, forms a secret society of knights!
Otherwise known as, 'The Knights of the Silver Rose'! She had many great adventures as a knight with her ever-expanding group of girl knights (along with the exception of a few boys), until finally, she was faced with an enemy with her wit or her strength. Knowing she would need a different power, she decided she would run away to Ravenwood to learn the magic and become a wizard.
Of course, her adoptive father, King Artorious, would never let her leave Avalon. But knowing this was the only way to keep her kingdom safe, she adopted a fake name (Christina FairyFlame), and became a wizard at Ravenwood Academy!

Like mentioned before, Christina refuses to give up on anything, because she is a perfectionist. She may say things like "I quit! Good luck to ya!", but she never really does. You can count on her to be there for you, and she's known for her bravery. She's horrible at keeping secrets, though, and sometimes she trusts the most terrible people.

Her signature colors are red and gold, simply because they are her favorite.

Christina's school sign is , and it quite suits her fiery temper and ambitious personality.

As you may have remembered, I mentioned she's horrible at secrets. How will she keep her true identity a secret, you may ask? The answer: She might not be able to...

And, of course, as soon as she begins learning the arts of Pyromancy, she's sucked into Merle's plots of saving the Spiral. It truly is one adventure after another for her, isn't it?

Isaac is the only descendant from the GorudoHato clan that is located in Mooshu. The GorudoHato clan is a hidden monk clan that helps restless souls.

He was able to speak and interact with both animals and plants. The battle took place in the cave of solitude. Isaac's father rushed towards him in order to strike him with his staff, but Isaac quickly doged it and, breaking the rule his mother placed on him to not use his powers, controled two moss patches at his will and launched them at his father immobilizing his hands and feet by covering them with the moss. Isaac quickly jumped up and summoned a staff from thin air made of wood and summoned with leaves, which he then used to bash his father on the head.

The clan now knowing of Isaac's abilities, they sent him off to the jade palace to receive tutelage from the emperor himself. He declined, since he had never seen such a fluid power as the one possesed by Isaac and thought he could never control it to help Isaac, but knew a place that could harness his abilities and could make him use them for good.
Isaac arrived at Ravenwood with great ambitions, were he was greated with kind hearts and many other students like him. He enrolled in the School of Life and has been a A+ student ever since.
Isaac is reserved, quiet and gentle normally, but can shift that way of being in any moment depending on his situations and surroundings, so you never know what surprise you might get from him. He sees beauty in everything and socializes the most he can.

Amazing backstories so far!

Update on James!

"If you dare make this pact with me, you will never be able to be the same again."
Those words echoed as James remembers them from time to time. The last words he heard before any sort of humanity was pulled from him.

Once upon a time, James was a loving, caring, gentle boy. He even dabbled in life magic, before it began to injure him the way in does now.

James remembers his mother and father, and sweet little sister...and how he had to give up his soul, to save them all.

He prefers not to remember the pain it gave him though, for his family doesn't even remember him anymore. This along with his soul, was the price he paid for their safety. Now he is just as cruel as the monster that follows him.

Teaching him in the ways of black magic, his own personal teacher.

Some may relate these dark arts to death school magic, however, it couldn't be more further from that.

The dark magic that James is given, is darkness itself, the death school focuses on that. Death. They have no fear of it, and the fears they do have, they use to fight with.

This dark magic however...it is bending the essence of the Spiral itself, diving deep into its most corrupted and evil parts, and using that magic for his own personal gain.

Once was an innocent and caring young boy, turned into a power hungry and evil monster.

All thanks to dear, Lord Sebastian

Who is Lord Sebastian you ask?

the very thing that follows James, the bane of his existence, yet....he can't live without Sebastian.

And after so much passing time, Sebastian cannot live without James.

Sebastian can take the form of any pet, stealing their soul from them and taking their form. He isn't really known for walking around in his real form after all. He is also James's Nightflame Pegasus that he is known to ride.

They are two sides to the same coin.

There is still so much James will not let you know, reader...but in time, all of the pieces will fall into place.

Hope you liked his update!

I have a complete history for each Wizard (all 11 of them and one more in the making) - where they come from, their background and education, their talents and interests, decorating/climate preferences, etc. I even note how they came to be at Ravenwood.

Some people heard this and thought I was crazy (well, occasionally perhaps), but I'm a published author by trade and I couldn't resist doing this.

It's fun and creates a more personalized relationship with each Wizard.

Happy Wizarding!

lol, been there~ once i noticed my characters starting to develop personalities, i figured i should do a fan-fic (it basically turned into a game of thrones season finale, but i'll post some less-creepy bits).

it started as a short novella, magic happens (written for national novel writing month 2011) that followed all of my characters. but i got really into my main wizard's backstory, and she got her own series.
with no first name, known lineage, or living relatives, sorceress shadowsong's entire life is shrouded in mystery. as a baby, she is found in a tomb by alhazred, who raises her as his own child and trains her as an assassin by the order of the fang. of course, the thing she wants most is the only thing he can't give her: answers.

but wait, there's more!

rumour was that the drake family was cursed; according to ancient lore, lady saoirse (pronounced SEAR-cha; mally/cyrus's mother) was very ill and had made a deal with a demon lord to trade her life for those of her twins. he agreed, but at a price~ her youngest son would be possessed by the spirit of death.

that son was malistaire. he warned sylvia to stay away, but she refused...and she paid with her life when he killed her, during an exorcism gone bad. displeased with what he had done, the fates cursed him with living death, until he can prove himself capable of human compassion or convince a virtuous person to give up their soul willingly.

naturally, he finds shadowsong and imprisons her, in hopes that she will give up her soul, out of desperation. but, when she resists, he takes the plan to new and terrifying heights, and she soon discovers that the truth is stranger than she ever could have imagined.

(my original reason for not giving her a first name is that she shares my real one, and i thought that naming a character after myself would be tacky... i had planned to give her a new one, but it became an important part of her character, so i left her without one)

von's note:

though she was found in krokotopia, wizard shadowsong's voice stands out as being distinctly un-krokotopian. if you read her dialogue in a sassy british accent, you'll have more fun. trust me on this one. lol.
stay creepy, friends!

spellbound (2012)

“Interesting,” Shadowsong ventured. “There isn't enough gold in the Spiral for that. But, if I can prove that I'm not afraid, then... can I go home?"
Malistaire listened carefully, a terrible pain forming in his chest as he agonized over her terms. If he accepted, he would have to let her go, return her to Alhazred, with whom she rightfully belonged, but she would finally look upon him without fear— even if only for a moment.

After much deliberation, he finally agreed. “Yes,” he replied, almost mournfully. “Anything you ask is yours. Even your freedom, if that is truly what you desire.”

-

halflife (2013)

"My parents are dead,” Malistaire stated simply. “Murdered, in cold blood, by a member of the royal household. But there were whispers around town that Mother was cursed. They said that she was evil, and that she had made a deal with a powerful shadow lord; sacrificed her life, in order to save mine."
Shadowsong shifted slightly, forcing herself to look deep into his cold, onyx eyes. "I see," she replied, stroking her chin thoughtfully. "Do you believe them?"

“So many questions, child. Don’t you think you ought to show some respect for the dead?”

strange magic (2016)

“You mock my pain.”

Shadowsong leveled her gaze at Malistaire, who rose from his bone-throne and glided down the long corridor to meet her. “My dear,” he greeted her, touching her cheek in a way that made her skin crawl with terror. "Pray tell, have you made your decision?”

“You mock my pain.”

“If you think that you know pain, my dear— that you truly understand loss and death and sadness, then you insult me with your ignorance.”

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who did this!

I don't have extremely detailed backstories but I know which worlds all of my wizards are from and their general personalities. All of my wizards know each other and consider themselves a team.

: Samantha Hawkrider: My main wizard, is from an unknown world. She won't reveal where she's from and is generally a private person. She's usually more serious but always a good person to go to if you need advice. While she is reserved, she is fiercely loyal to her friends and very courageous when trying to protect them or the spiral. A true warrior.

: Iridian Wildbloom: She is from the little known world of Mirage, and like the world, has a very mysterious backround. She is very witty and clever, often knowing more than she reveals. While she can be cunning, she deeply respects the balance of all things, and fights to protect it.

: Scarlet Windsong: She is from Zafaria with a louder personality. She doesn't really have a filter and says whatever comes into her mind. Because of this, she often comes across as sassy and sarcastic. With a more outspoken demeanor, she can be very charming.

: Keira Seacaller: Not from a particular world, but rather from the deep sea itself, she grew up with the sirens. She has a somewhat controlling personality, and is very powerful, but she can also be very gentle and calming. While a more serious and composed person most of the time, she can sometimes lose her temper and make rash decisions.

: Sarai Starcaster: Born in Aquila, she is a fighter. She can be a bit unpredictable and random, but has very noble values. She always believes in fighting for what's just, even if it's less than beneficial for her.

: Brecken Willowthistle: From Polaris, she is very quiet, gentle and kind of innocent. Though she is very traditional and set in her ways, she is quick to defend herself and her friends. She is a protector and steps up for the fight when she need to.

I'm glad people are actually responding to this post because the one I started didn't get any attention!
Jessica Swiftgem
Jessica was born in Marleybone unto a human family who were servants of high ranking Marleybonian naval officers. While accompanying her parents as they escorted said naval officer on a special supply trip over the seas of the Spiral, Jessica's parents were brutally murdered by pirates who raided her ship. The pirates, though cruel, were soft-hearted enough to spare the child and take her in. As she grew she revealed a massive talent for fighting and became a natural born Swashbuckler. When Jessica was finally allowed to join the crew on one of their raids, she was traumatized that she killed an innocent merchant. She fled her life as a pirate and wandered the Spiral for a year searching for a better purpose. She stumbled across Wizard City and was taken in. She had finally found something she could use her talent for.

Oh you guys are awesome with your backstories!

So creative, it gives me even more idea's for James!

So Upadate!

"James, I will grant you one wish in honor of everything you have done up till now. Heeding my orders and doing my bidding like a servant. I think that earns you something, don't you?"

James, sitting under a tree on a fragmented piece of land floating in the Spiral, looked over at Sebastian.

"Anything you want, and it can belong to you...you can even wish me away so you can be with your family again. I assume that's what you want anyway, correct? I think you've done enough to earn that. To finally be rid of the pain i've given you."

James laughed under his breath.
"Why so nice all of a sudden...?"

"No reason really."

"I can smell the lie. Why are you being nice?"

"Perhaps...it's pity."

"Oh, Don't you dare give me your pity you sick Demon. If you felt that way for me, then you would've let my family remember me."

"I suppose that's true. However I am giving you the chance now to go back to them. Do you not realize that?"

James sighed, and looked out up.

"So. What is your wish? Anything you want."

James thought to himself, how long had it been since he last was able to see his family. He looked over to Sebastian, the Demon bound to his soul, was giving him the chance to be set free. It was almost...impossible to believe. James recalled all the things he ever did with Sebastian by his side, and...can't seem to see living his life without him anymore.

James, a student of a school that Sebastian created personally.

The school of Demonology. A school made specially for James, and anyone who Sebastian decides to take under his wing to teach. However, it is simply Sebastian and James right now.

"I suppose making the wish, means you can't teach me anymore, right?"

"Correct."

James shook his head.

"I'm ready to make my wish."

"Go on then."

"It's hard to say without it sounding odd."

"Spit it out, or i'm leaving."

"Stay with me. Okay?"

"huh...?"

"That's my wish."

UPDATE:

Short after Isaac's enrrolment in Ravenwood, he began exploring the other forms of magic as well as reading for uncountable hours at the wizard city library. Isaac being the curious kid he is, received private classes from all other 6 teachers at the faculty of ravenwood and was amazed with his crafting and fishing classes. Gardening was something very easy for him, in which he exeled

After a few classes from each teacher, Isaac could conjure roaring flames from his hands, snow and iceflakes with his breath, electricity and tiny mythical creatures with his mind, kill a living being with a snap of his fingers and combine those abilities with a bit of concentration. He learned the basics, since his strength was theurgy. Oh but not everything went as well as expected, since curiousity is a virtue, but also a curse

After reading what seemed like the ENTIRE library, Isaac enhanced his already basic skills and strengthened his already powerful life magic. The next shipment of books he had coming for the library was for the next month, so he had to either find the last book in the library, or face that his curiosity had to rest for some time. You would think that the prohibited part of the library was something he wouldn't dable with, but instead was one of the first parts of the library he finished, following with the pet care section and the history of the crafting arts column

Harold did not allow Isaac in that part of the library since he couldn't handle the danger in those books, but while he said those exact words Isaac had already read "Dark Minion Summoning and it's History", "Ancient Evil Wizards, Spirits & Warriors Trapped in Everyday Artifacts" and "The Book of the Arcane Curses". Argleston, seeing Isaac's head hadn't exploded, allowed him to read all he wished as long as he didn't mess up and unleashed something evil. A book with a green vortex and black spot on it covered with a gold lining making it look like and eye was his next book to read...

My diviner is the daughter of Zeus and Morganthe (don't ask why, it's more logical then those who make backstories with their main character being related to Malistaire). In fact she is incredibly powerful, more then she even realizes. Her goal is to not become corrupted by the shadow magic like her mother was, part of the reason she was on earth to begin with (remember the beginning how Ambrose said we were from a world that doesn't believe magic is real?) is because they didn't want her to unleash her full potential and keep her energy locked. She still however learned to redirect lightning and even make amazing magic shows with her talent and thus Ambrose asked her to enroll in Ravenwood. Over her times at Ravenwood she has made many friends who just seem to vanish after awhile.
Even as of lately the friends of her past seem to be giving her visions, but they are wavery like they aren't there? Almost as if they were simply shadows, even a shadowy image of her mother appears now and then saying stuff along the lines of "These "friends" do not exist, they are merely shadows".

Sorry to cut off the backstory off here but there isn't much more to say yet XD she is still living her journey.

The origin of Carlos StarBreaker:

"You won't get away with this!" I said.
"You poor young fool will never understand. I am Malistare, the most powerful wizard in the spiral! You will do my bidding!"
He gave me a stare that could have burned two holes in my chest.
I started, "I may be alone, but..." I was stopped by a fierce rumble that shook Malistare off his feet. Blasting through the wall came Merle Ambrose and the master of balance himself, Alzhared!
"We know you have our new student! Release him or pay the prices!" Threatened Ambrose.
Malistare was slightly terrified. Together they could take down Malistare.
"Fine, old man, I will release this little wizard. But don't expect me to give up completely. You know I will return!"
Just then, he used magic to warp himself to another world of the spiral.
"Are you okay, wizard?" Ambrose asked me. Alzhared started,
"Wizard, you were very brave against Malistare. The balance school could use a wizard like you. Please, join balance magic."
My eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
"I would love to join balance magic!"
Just like that, I was an official student of balance. As I continued, enemies got harder, but I got stronger. Today, Carlos is a Grandmaster wizard, and he continues his journey remembering what happened when he first came to the spiral, and still follows in Alzhareds footsteps.

The End!

Can someone rate mine, please?

Fiona Dreamer, born in Grizzleheim and raised by the bears. She is a fighter, but also cares about every living plant there is, and often spends most of her energy on nurturing all her own grown plants
Bears taught her to hit as hard as you can and do everything as quick as possible, that's why her fighting style of traps, balefrost and saving power pips is sometimes maybe really impatient, but Fiona is just a beauty lover and a quick fighter.

Amber UnicornGarden, you probably won't believe this, came from Skull island!(Pirate101) Her sister, Annoying Amber is questing as a pirate, just like their parents were, while Amber U. is more into life magic and helping others. Wow, the backstories are awesome!

Because she thought that pirates are mean(which is sooooo not true!) she decided to search for her parents in a different way. But both sisters still love each other and meet up on their progress every month.

Fiona Dreamer lvl 34 magus thaumaturge!
Amber UnicornGarden lvl 9 aprentice theurgist!
Annoying Amber lvl 40 op Witchdoctor!

UPDATE: (i just love my wizard so much :3)

The locket on the book was very tight. Isaac tried all kinds of encantations to try and break the locket but none worked with it. Isaac figured professor Argleston new a way to open the book, but it was way to obvious this book would be in his prohibited list. With a cloth he grabbed from his backpack, Isaac disguised the book as a "Guide to Necromancy" so he wouldn't suspect a thing.

It worked! But Isaac knowing harold would check the book quickly swiped it away from the librarian and ran off to the hallway with the excuse that he had to do a book report about death. Harold believed him at first, but after a while of brain storming he knew Isaac was lying. How would a life student do a book report about death?

To be continued...

WOW! These stories are TERRIFIC! My Wizards had relatively tame backgrounds compared to some of yours!

Here are a couple of examples. I didn't cite any before. I didn't even THINK of having a Wizard from Aquila! I never considered Khrysalis or Polaris because I haven't seen them yet. My highest Wizard is Storm, Level 82, and she is still in Avalon. I didn't include them here, but all of my profiles include the houses, the main working pet, where I put the music players (I glitch a lot of them into trees and rocks so they don't show) and other pertinent information that I would otherwise forget! (Fibro Fog). These stories are my touch-stones and they help me to remember and form the magical workings of each Wizard. They all fight differently.

KIERAN – LIFE (6 Houses)
Kieran's parents died at a very young age and he was adopted as a baby by a family from Wysteria. While he loves Wysteria, and is fascinated in particular by the plant life; he knew from the start that the school in Wysteria was not for him. He talked his parents into sending him to Ravenwood. Kieran showed a talent for Life and Healing magic from a very early age. He loves being around people and even opened a Hotel/Occasion Venue so he could meet people from all over the Spiral. He is especially skilled in the art of herbalism and in gardening and communicating with plants of all types so lush tropical and forest places appeal to him. Another Moonweaver cousin, he first met Colin and Tatania at Ravenwood. Until then, he had only been in Wysteria and bought the Wysteria Villa because he misses his home. He loved Mooshu on sight and has developed a number of healing skills by studying with the MS monks. He also has an affinity with the Faerie Worlds and decided to pursue Myth as a Secondary School. One of his more bizarre personality traits is that he is fascinated by insects of all kinds. There can never be too many! Thus, the purchase of the Khrysalis home.
