Should I wear a robe that gives me:

5% resistance to everything (Garment of Preference) or

+144 max health, +4% power pip chance, and +6% damage (Mugsy's Robe of Equity)

Depends, do you do PvP? If you do, get a lot of resist gear. But, if you like to play the game then, I suggest the second gear.

that depends on a couple of different things:

1) what does the rest of your gear look like?
2) what level are you?
3) how do you play your wizard (solo, with friends, pvp, etc.)?

if you can answer these, then we can better assist you.

Well, it depends on what you are trying to do, either be a tank (defensive mode) or a hammer (attacker). If you want to be a tank it is best to have a friend with you, if you want to be a hammer you can do most things by yourself.

Well, fellow young wizard, it deeply depends on your needs. Are you a defensive dueler, or a powerful offensive sorcerer? Global resistance, for me, is awesome. Though its also good to have higher health. If it were me I'd pick the second option. But it's your call buddy.

For questing, mugsy's robe of equity. Never where armor that doesn't boost your school in some way. For pvp, you can go either way but I would still have mugsy's robe of equity.

I would go with the second option due to the fact that it has more than one stat boost, and they are definitely better than simply a 5% universal resist.

The second robe would be the better one out of the two. 5% isn't that much if I assume you have no resistance at all. The other robe gives health, 4% power pip chance, and 6% damage which the extra six percent would help in the long run.

I think the one that is "not" 5% resistance is the best.

Since you're balance, I'd go with the second choice. You can train shields and use your elemental and spiritual shields.

It depends on what you want most, power or defense. Either way, hands down I would pick the second one because of the health booster, and the stats. It also depends on your level, and what you are doing right now. Good luck!
