Those spells are called enhancement or enchantment cards. They boost the damage of an attack. If the enhancement card is a Treasure Card (TC) it will turn the card you enhance into a TC, but it cannot be traded or sold. If the enhancement card is a learned spell from the sun school, then the card you create will only last that battle, it will not turn into a TC.

Hannah Lifebringer Level 80 Life

P.S. at a certain level (fairly low) Diego gives a tutorial that explains this process.

To use the Tough or Monstrous Treasure cards with your school given spells you must click on them and then click on the spell you want them to boost, then click on that boosted spell and cast it at the monster.

They only work on your school given spells, not wands and such. They can be purchased at the Library and it used to be the thing to go to Golem Tower and charm your own spells to make them into Treasure Cards so they were ready in your side board to use in fighting. So you will notice if you do use them on your regular spell and don't use them in that battle they will be put in with your treasure cards for future use.

Later on you get to train for these Sun Spells to be permanently in your deck up to Colossus which all my wizards do.
