SO I went through defeated all the bosses, after I beat the last boss I got into combat and select fled, not thinking I had to put the staff in, I was doing this with someone else when I got back in it, Winthrop was gone, the quest said to place the staff on the platform, but I never got prompted to do it while on it. Do I have to do the dungeon over again?

Do I have to do the dungeon over again?
Yes. Anytime you leave a dungeon for more than 30mins it resets. It also says just that at the beginning of each and every dungeon.
