Got some Crowns...what to buy?

Hi everyone,
I just recently started the game, and found it enjoyable to adventure in this magical wizarding world. So I decided to buy crowns to unlock some features (i.e. the paid zones and other features) in it and experience more. That's exactly what I did: clicked on the crown shop and browsed stuffs in it. Well, the problem comes because there are so many stuffs to buy and I'm kind of overwhelmed on what to buy. Mounts? Pets? Equipments? Packs? Other cool stuff?
Any opinions I'd like to hear!
And...if you have crowns, what would be your first choice? What would most wizards usually need?

Thanks XD

My top choices in the beginning are mounts (I like the simple ones, like the broomsticks) and pets (my favorite in the beginning is The Death Leprechaun). I used to buy crown gear starting at Level 5, but now I usually stick to The Bazaar clothing. Only once in a while will I see a "pack" that catches my eye, and then I will buy some of those. But I limit myself on how many packs I buy.

Well hoard packs are very fun and have lots of cool items unique to them (Islander's pack for example can get you a pretty neat surf board mount)

But around the corner is the halloween bash and that is going to have lots of neat little crown items including a black cat pet and a very nice Nightmare hoard pack with a chance for some epic mounts

btw it would help if we knew how much you have
so we dont tell you to buy a specific mount (or pricey item)

I use my crowns mainly for stitching high level gear that is pretty much permanent to the wizard till end of Azteca.

Gear, I get in the game as I go (dropped) or purchased from the Bazaar. At level 56 I have the crafted gear from Wintertusk that I use instead of Water Works gear, this is what I usually stitch since it's Wintertusk themed. You can usually make it though level 45 or so with out having to worry too much about what gear your wizard has on. Game play can be more focused on how to play the game over how to make your wizard a lean mean fighting machine - save that mind set for end of Mooshu beginning of DragonSprye. Once you hit Wintertusk/Celestia you will have to up your game to be able to get by.

Mounts, housing, pets etc. I get in the game with the gold I earned. We usually start out with a horse or broom since they are the least gold to get and the Playhouse from Wizard City. Pets you win or can farm for and of course you will get your school pets as you go. Going to the Bazaar to sell off everything you can't use and then shops to sell off No Auction stuff usually nets you enough to get all your wizards needs as you progress on. I sell unusable gear, treasure cards, seeds, pet snacks, reagents and so on. Getting decent gear and a mount is usually the first priority for me.

Having crowns to burn will give you an advantage in the game of better gear, mounts, pets and so on. It used to be the other way around but there wasn't any profit in that I don't think. Keep in mind as you progress though the Spiral and level your wizard up the gear you buy now will become less useful later on.

Honestly, I would just save them to pay for future zones. if you have a membership, then i wouldn't say anything is absolutely better for a beginner than something else. crowns are really just a shortcut to good items. You could buy a crown shop pet, or create a good one from scratch and hatch with someone who has the pet you decided not to buy. Most gear you buy you will outgrow quickly. The athame "heartsteel" is cheap and useful. it is even used in some high level wizards because of the resist it gives. again, you can farm for it from a boss in Wizard City. You can try your luck with a pack, although those are pretty much hit or miss. you might get a spell or mount, but you will usually get housing items and reagents.

I try to buy things that I can get for gold with gold and save crowns for things that are sold for crowns only.
Mounts are nice but you can get some good ones for gold. I'd stay away from the really big ones and the high flying ones. They look cool from far but kind of stink to ride. Brooms and cats are good rides.

Some of the crown seeds rock. You can look at guides to see what plant give what rewards, Gardening is the best way to get pet snacks, gold, rare reagents, and good treasure cards. I grow Evil Magma peas. If you are going to craft and train pets hard do those for sure.

The best starter pet is the Sea Dragon. You can get them as a drop but it is kind of hard so that might be something to buy with crowns.

I don't have much luck with packs, so can't really recommend that. I wish they would just make good stuff for sale instead of putting it in packs with soooo much junk.

If you are new to the game and still low level you may not want to buy a lot of gear because you will outgrow it fast, but a wand that gives a pip or power pip can really speed up your questing, so the Ascendant Staff, Phosphorescent Maul, or Bolt blade (depending on level) might be worth getting unless you already have a pip wand from the game.

Keep some crowns always in case there is a sale on something good or you need to buy potions or energy. If you make friends you won't need henchmen though.

Whatever you do, get all the areas, either with crowns or a sub. You don't want to miss out on anything. It is an AWESOME game!

Most good gear are farmed(killing boss) or crafted. so buying equips in a nono, because you are starting you will easily out grow them. Packs are good too, but they conform to your level. i.e. opening one at lvl 30 will get you gears at that level(round of to the highest tenths)

I suggest buy a mount first, this will help you run faster.
second, if you still have money buy a mastery amulet. most will buy life mastery.
third try to buy on sales, KI do have sales, like 50% off on packs, or mega monday sales, etc.

Depends on what wizard(s) you have, and how many crowns you have to spend.

If you have enough crowns, and do NOT have an annual membership already, buy ALL AREAS including Aquila in perpetuity. Then if your child or sibling inherits the account he/she will have no obstacles to questing.

If you already have most areas, or have annual membership, here's what I would do, in order of priority. If you already have the item(s) in question, mentally cross it off your list and keep going.

--Any one mastery amulet you need but don't already have from Waterworks/Helephant. If you have multiple wizards in pvp, this will likely be a life or myth amulet.
--One clean first-generation sea dragon to use as a basis for several utility pet lineages: Damage, resist, accuracy and healing
--A good two-seater or three-seater mount, for escorting groups of friends through "grabby" mob areas
--Packs. I would start with Shaman's Lore and open on your highest level wiz until you get Teeth of the Lords of Night block wand. Highly recommend you do this on a level 90.
--More packs. I would then sit on about 12500 crowns to open Yuletide packs (you missed Christmas in July) for Winter Palace Cavalry Boots which have a very nicely balanced amount of hefty resist, health boost, pips, block, and accuracy. Also Winter Palace Spikeleaf Sword with 100 block is a good alternate choice if you don't get the Teeth.
--Seeds. Unless you're already questing in Avalon, you should look at picking up some Evil Magma Peas.

One comment here ... "Mastery amulets" are usually bought to cover your secondary school. Not sure why you would think that most people buy life mastery, unless life is their secondary school.

Details on the introduction of amulets can be found here:

I agree with what Dakota said. You can buy a Broom mount for gold, so I wouldn't spend crowns on a mount. Packs can give you decent early and mid level questing gear, but packs are a gamble because mostly you get junk in them.

If you enjoy the game, but can't get a membership, I think saving your crowns to buy access to new areas is your best bet.

If you are able to get a membership, I would spend my crowns on plants: 12 couch potatoes and 25 Evil Magma Peas to be exact. They both give mega snacks at Elder which is extremely handy for training pets. You will have mega snacks for your entire time in the spiral. Plant the Couch Potatoes in a 3x4 grid and the Evil Magma Peas in a 5x5 grid and your large gardening spells will work perfectly on them. Also, these plants give helpful reagents as well as treasure cards and snacks that you can sell for gold.

As far as pets go, there really is no pet that is good from initial purchase. You really need to hatch with friends who already have spent time and effort to get a good pet. Getting a good pet takes a lot of time unless you get really lucky.
