It doesn't matter what you feed your pet... it will not have any effect on the talents the pet gets. Pet talents are predetermined at hatching. The only difference in snacks is that you'll get 1 bonus XP for feeding a pet a snack it likes... 2 bonus XP if it's a snack the pet loves. Obviously, for a Kraken, Storm snacks are going to be on their preferred snack list but experiment with other snacks too and you'll find they will like or love snacks from other schools as well.
