Some people do not do side quests since they are not the main quest, and accidentally accept one they didn't want to do. What if you had the option to get rid of the side quests appearing alongside your main quest? There could be an option to get rid of it in the corner in the form of a button that has you confirm your cancellation of it. The side quest would still be available from that person.
