Hello wizards!
Today I have a very odd problem. My pet always gets in 2nd place and it has stayed that way for about 3 days. I don't know what is happening, can someone help me? Here's my pet's information!
Pedigree: 49
Class: Ice
Strength: 152
Intellect: 159
Agility: 142
Will: 149
Power: 160

Hey Jessica!

Just by looking at your stats, they are very low.

Stats correspond to cheer cost. The higher the stat, the more you can train the stat, the more you train the stat, the lower the cheer cost, the lower the cheer cost, the more you can cheer, the more you can cheer, the faster you go!

Here is the info about what cheer cost you'll have at each stat:

1 - 14 ................10
15 – 59 ..............9
60 – 104 ............8
105 – 149 ..........7
150 – 194 ..........6
195 – 239 ..........5
240 – 284 ..........4
285 - 329 ..........3
330 - 374...........2
375 and above....1

So, let's now look at your stats:
Strength:152=cheer cost 6
Intellect: 159=cheer cost 6
Agility: 142=cheer cost 7
Will: 149=cheer cost 7

Now, let's add them up to get your TCC or your Total Cheer Cost.
6+6+7+7=26

Now, let's compare that pet with one of mine:
Strength: 240=cheer cost 4
Intellect: 240=cheer cost 4
Agility: 333=cheer cost 2
Will: 285=cheer cost 3

Let's add these up:
4+4+2+3=13

Your TCC is DOUBLE mine. This is a huge handicap, allowing me to cheer more often than you can and not run of out morale.

The trick to succeeding in derby is high stats. The best way to do this is to hatch with a pet that already has high stats (preferably max stats). After that, the key is selfish talents. Talents like Durable (+50 agility), crafty (+50 will), and Relentless (+65 agility) can make a HUGE difference in not only cheer cost, but the race itself!

Of course, derby abilities are also nice to have, (like hurries or charges), but I would take a low TCC over good abilities any day.

Good luck, and if you need a hatch, let me know!

I'm just very worried about starting over again because it has took a year to get my pet in good shape!

I know starting a new pet can be very daunting, but, it's obvious you're unhappy on how your pet is performing. You can't expect to win without putting in the effort.

Luckily, there are tons of derby "pros" that have perfect, or almost perfect pets to help lessen the time it would take to get one for yourself. :)

If you're interested, let me know.....
