The henchmen need to be player directed. There are ways to make the spell selection phase be smarter and people would buy more of them. I have seen henchmen become a problem with the right spell cast on the wrong guy (wizard or mob) and henchmen don't cast shields. If people are buying help, let them direct it. The fights would go faster and smoother. People deserve to get value for their money.
