You have to complete all main story line quests, including the dungeon in the Pyramid before gaining access to the Krokosphinx. Keep questing; you'll get there.
to get to the balance school you have to finish certain quests in krokotopia until they tell you to get on the boat to go to Krokosphinx which is where the Balance school is. I'm not really sure which quest you have to do to get there though. Hope this answered your question.
