Melting cheese tree

I did see the announcement that the melting cheese tree was giving the wrong requirements, but I had already managed to plant one in non-enchanted soil. (Or else it's in enchanted soil and undercover as plain old dirt.) It's well on the way to maturity, and I'm wondering if it'll continue to mature or if I've suddenly got a cheese-headed stick in Iridian Winterthorn's garden.

If it won't mature, is there some way to have that large plain soil converted to enchanted soil? Iridian will happily pay some energy points to make it right for the plant -- maybe triple the cost of casting a proper large enchanted soil spell in the first place?
