Gardening rank is not changing

I have for a long time been stuck at one level in gardening. The green bar has and will not advance even when it says I have recieved experience points. Please help.

The Gardening Experience bar will show you the experience you have and the total until the next level when you move your mouse over the bar.

You are getting gardening experience, it's just so little that the bar doesn't appear to move.
