I have an idea , seeing how everyone including me complains about packs drop rates being low and everyone gets on here arguing about chance or saying you spent that much or whatever they want to gripe about.

How about KI giving a quest for all the ultra rare drops so people can do a hard quest to get awarded these ultra rare items.
Well for my point the quest would have to be extremely hard so it would still push people away from it but at least it would be an additional option . And there are tons of people that hate doing long hard quests so they would still buy packs. and there are people out there with no crowns so they could do the quest or at least attempt it.

One word: Luck. It's luck, bro. They don't HAVE to give you a mount just because you spent gargantuan amounts of crowns just to try for a mount you have a 15% chance of getting. Sorry, I guess try again?

Just remember that if you ever get crowns again, DO NOT spend all the crowns on it (if I were you i'd spend around 2,000). I was trying to do the same thing (well similar), I bought some Hoard Of The Hydra packs and after about 10 or 13 tries, I decided to give up. But with those packs it is very rare to get a mount.

I have spent over 40,000 crowns on the Wyvern's Hoard Pack. That is not counting the thousands upon thousands of crowns I have spent on other hoard packs.

So in estimation, I have spent close to 100,000 crowns, if not more, on trying to get one of the special mounts that come in these packs. I see people in Wizard City running around on these mounts all of the time. Yet with all of the money I have contributed to your game and all of the tens upon thousands of crowns I have spent on the hoard packs for a mount, I have yet to receive any mount at all. I absolutely disagree with the fairness of this situation. I understand that the mounts are rare and blah blah blah. But I have spent about 100,000 crowns on the Hoard packs alone.

I honestly think that I should be awarded a mount. I do not think that my inability to receive a mount is fair on ANY level at all. I there are a thousand other things I could have spent all of those crowns on.
I personally think that I should be awarded a mount of my choice considering the amount of money I have spent on the game just trying to get one of these mounts.

Out of approximately 100,000 crowns of Hoard Pack items, I have received mostly trees, a few useless pets, and a few clothing items I either dislike or cannot use based on the useless stats. Again, I personally think that this subject should be looked into considering the fairness factor. If I had it my way, I would be given all of my crowns back or a refund for the crowns I have spent trying for one of these mounts.

Again, I understand that these mounts are rare and hard to get, but I have spent about 100,000 crowns on these packs. And these packs go for 399 crowns a pack. You do the math. I absolutely should have gotten one by now.
Getting mounts from a pack is not easy. Since kingsisle was awarded the games award they gave out one free hoard pack if you cast your vote by email. I did and first try opening I got the Golden Wyvern mount. See its just chance. I could have opened another one and it is possible I could get a mount or not....

Considering they are ultra-rares they may have about 10% or more of showing up...

So it is fair.

Why would you spend so much on a pack, that it srsly CRAZY. There are dozens of other cool stuff to get in the crown shop, why not get those mounts, or if you so desperate to get a (more than one person mount) BUY A PACK.

No they aren't. The packs this post refers to are 399 crowns which is not $39.
You are talking about the bundles...those can be $39.

well i have not been playing long only since may 2012 but my thoughts on the mount thing is that mounts are cool but for getting around in the game, wings are better and more agile..I have some mounts that came with my prepaid cards i bought and found that there wings and their heads get in the way of my line of vision..most of mine are wandering around on the grounds of my various homes. even the T-rex.
they dont make you a better player or add to your spells. what I find annoying are the kids who constantly ask you to gift them crowns, packs and even mounts..If my kid did that i would not let him play for awhile.
Not cool. Oh and wings are cheaper to boot..I like the fairy ones

The amount of money I spent trying to get a Deer Knight, I could have bought one in real life... And it would serve me coffee every morning for that price.

Is KI being a bit greedy? I would have to say yes. Realistically speaking, prepares a whole collection of a pack SHOULD be obtainable within a standard purchase of crowns (for 20 bucks? 20k crowns). That sets a reasonable standard that makes people want to continue purchasing packs.

There are two way to do business, you either make a trap and rip people off ONCE (like making them spend 80k for one single item from a pack). Or you can make it a more reasonable price and set the odds so people should get all items from a pack after 20-30 purchases (I think there's enough statisticians in the world that someone can calculate the odds for that, and I will volunteer my services if needed be). I am not talking about a flat 1/30 chance of getting an item, because that rate would still cause some people to get an item after 3 tries and some people would need 300 tries. What you need to do is set the rate so more than 50% of the time, a person could collect all items in a pack after X purchases. What this means is that instead of (1 rare per pack, each rare has a 1/30 chances of being selected), you should have (2 rare per pack, each rare has a 1/60 chances of being selected). You still keep the same over-all rarity of the items, but it lowers the Variance and lowers the Standard Deviation so more people could in fact get what they want after 30 tries.

Be less greedy and offer a better rare per pack ratio, that way people will actually buy all the packs that comes out.

You gave yourself an answer there. You COULD have spent those crowns on a thousand other things. So just a mount seperate from packs. Will cost a lot less, Trust me

it seems that I get every other ultra-rare thing. Raven's claw of unkindness (I LOVE this wand) , smoldering boots of revenge (I think, I don't wear them often) Dragon rider's utility robes, pixie's encata, dragonbite bow, night king's crown, a lightning bat, a green ghost, a frost beetle, a blue banshee, and heck, once I even got a pale maiden!

But the point is, it was your money and you spent it the way you chose to. yes, that is a ridiculous amount to spend and get nothing. But the mount is ultra-rare, and ultra-rare means verrrrry uncommon (I wonder how many 'you don't say's I'll get for that )

My situation is fairly similar. I usually buy packs to get a set of gear, it usually doesn't cost that much except for the occasions where I will recieve the same item.
I've been very fortunate in that I've recieved A Deer Knight pet from the Purreau pack but didn't have a Death Wizard to pair it with so I deleted my Myth Wizard just to start using this pet.
I've also received Smoldering helmet and Boots and have socked those away for the time my ice wizard can use them.
The point I'm trying to make is that unless you are only playing one wizard you are bound to find something that you can use, perhaps not immediately but at some later stage.
As everyone else has said, there is a CHANCE of obtaining the mount, pet etc you want.
It is the same situation for people collecting sports or other type cards, there is no gaurantee that they will get the one they are after.
People playing the slot machines in vegas don't get a refund from the Casino simply because they didn't win the Jackpot!
I do sympathise with you, it must be extremely frustrating and annoying not to recieve something you have your heart set apon.
As others have suggested why not set yourself a limit on how may packs you will buy each day, week etc or just to break up the monotony, why not to buy your packs on different days or times.
I hope you get your mount soon.

I asked KI this question last year and got a reply. The chances of you obtaining an ultra-rare mount from any given card pack is 100 to 1. Unfortunately that applies to every pack you buy. 100 to 1. Buying more packs does not increase your odds of getting it.

However, I did find out on my own something that may help or not. After giving up on trying to get a mount drop I just went about my business elsewhere in the game. There where a few times, just for giggles, I would buy a pack in the wee hours on the morning. 1 - 2 am Eastern. Low and behold within a few packs the mount dropped. Give it a try sometime. Buy your packs in the hours when fewer players are in the game. Can't hurt.

its all chance, I got shadowsteed epic mount on the very first nightmare pack I bought but my friends have spent may 10-20k crowns and still have not gotten it, you could spend 100k in crowns and dtill not get the epic or ulta rare mount you want, but like KI says its all chance.

It's all luck. Just buy a random mount and you will be done with it. I'm not sure why you didn't get one. I have 2 and I didn't buy that many. :( Sorry.
