Pierced?

I am battling shadow web haunt in drum jungle and it says pierced when they dont have resistance.And, when i use hex and then attack WITH the hex on the bad guy, it says pierced.

That depends.

#1. If it's showing as "pierced" when they attack you, it means that they're taking away your resistance or shields with armour piercing.

#2. If it shows when you attack them, what are the armour-piercing stats on your current gear?

Pierce means a certain amount of damage bypasses resistance and/or shields.

If you had 100% pierce, a mob's resistance or shield would be reduced to 0%, and your attack would hit for full damage.

That is how I seem to understand it.
