What's "Threat"?

Hi everyone,

I just got a free card from Nightside. It reads,

"Reduce threat on target"

And some other cards in the Libraries, they might say,

"Reduce threat on target"

or:

"Heighten threat on target"

or even:

"Heighten threat on all enemies"

May somebody please tell me what this "threat" thing is? And what does it do to your enemies???

I don't truly know, but i think i know what it is....

Here is a Example:

Wizard 1: -Gets attacked by Storm Shark from Enemy-
Enemy is threatened by Wizard 1, so the Enemy is attacking Wizard 1.
Wizard 2: -Casts Reduce Threat on Target on Enemy-
Target is Wizard 1.
Enemy 1 is less threatened by Wizard 1.
Enemy is now more Threatened by Wizard 2.
Enemy Starts attacking Wizard 2.

^ Is it just me or do i find that Example Hilarious?

And Reduce Threat on all Targets mean the Enemy is less threatned by Wizard 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Now, increase Threat......

Wizard 2: -Gets attacked by Cyclops from Enemy-
Wizard 1: -Uses increase Threat on Target on Enemy-
Wizard 1 is Target.
Enemy is more threatned by Wizard 2 .
Enemy: -Uses Wraith on Wizard 2-

I think you get the Idea. :P

it depends on who enemies attack, like if you cast distract (increase threat on enemy), its more likely the enemy will attack you. if you reduce threat on an enemy, its less likely itll attack you. good for ice-storm teams

A Threat causes you to be the target of the enemies. For example, if you were to use Taunt (which creates a threat), then the enemies would focus their attacks on you, but is someone uses another spell like Pacify that lowers the threat, then the enemies will stop focusing on you or focus on you less.

I'll try to explain this as simple as possible. Threat is the system in which monsters use to determine their target. Everytime you attack or heal or use distract or taunt spells, you increase your own threat, so the enemies will target you. You can use spells to reduce threat so that monsters won't attack you. Understand the concept now? I didn't understand it either, i had someone teach me in the ways of threat. Also because normal players have minds of their own, threat has no effect in pvp, so don't waste any time worrying about it.
