There really is no telling when they will releasse new pets. they do it all the time, but you will probably find the most during holidays. If you really want new pets just battle bosses

I am not at zafaria yet but I check youtube regularly and so far there no pet quests or pet shops in zafaria yet. It might take a while before they come out with them. (I hope there is a zebra in the pet shop.) :D
