It's pretty simple to make the game combat more fair, especially for PvP
The way it is now: All players and monsters choose their spells at the same time. Problem: The team that goes last needs to predict the team that goes first. For example: To counter a trap that may be placed on them, they decide to throw on a fire ward. The team that goes first puts up a storm trap instead, or doesn't use a trap at all, and will decide to use a weak fire spell to break the ward. Where if the team that goes last were to put up a storm trap on the team that goes first, they could easily select a storm ward on the next turn without needing to predict. My suggestion: All players on one team choose, then use their spells. Then the next team chooses and uses their spells. This is so both teams can choose what to do based on their opponents moves, not just one.
I was hoping this would at least be discussed, as I believe it would be a big improvement to Wizard101. I've even talked to some other people and they agree with this idea. It would make it more fair for both teams in battles.
