Custom Pet Training

Ever train your favorite pet only for it to not learn all the talents you want?

Wouldn't it be nice if you could custom train your pet for the talents you want for it?

Here's my idea:

1: Your pet must be epic level.

2: You pay X amount of gold at the pet pavilion to retrain 1 talent.

3: Pets can still only have 4 talents.

4: Pets can only retrain for talents available to that type of pet.
ex: A life pet can't learn death blade, etc.

5: After selecting the talent you don't want... you select a talent from a list of talents, available to that type of pet, for retraining. It will then show that talent on your pet's info, but it will be greyed out until your pet is retrained.

6: Your pet then drops 1 level & you train your pet as normal for that talent.

7: You can do this as many times as you wish, but... only 1 talent at a time & only after your pet reaches epic level again.

Now this might make pet training take longer; especially if you end up with 4 talents you don't like, because you'll have to retrain that pet 4 times. However, it's a lot less agrevating than... hatching & training, hatching & training, hatching & training, & ending up with a dozen identical pets you don't want.

Plus this method won't interfere with the mechanics of pet training or hatching they way they are currently set up. You are only paying gold to drop your pet a level so you can retrain it for a talent you want it to have.

Want a life scarecrow that gives a life card? Hatch for it. Then train it & if you end up with some talents you don't want... custom train it.

KI can add a new NPC for players to talk to for custom training their pets. His name will be... Ready for this?

Cesar Millan The Pet Weesperer

Yes & spelled like that too. Plus he's the perfect celeb to characterize in the game for custom pet training. Think about it. He retrains people's dogs in real life.

What does everyone think?

The NPC name is hilarious! Lol

I’d rather pets earn exp through battles, but this is actually a well thought out balanced idea.

Devin Darksong – lvl 60 Death
Digby Darksong – lvl 60 Life
Duncan Darksong –lvl 60 balance
Dylan Darksong –lvl 60 Storm
Dustan Darksong –lvl 60 Myth
Dolan Darksong –lvl 60 Ice

sounds great but i think it has a small flaw. Say from baby to teen, you got a selfish talent. But, from teen to epic, you got all helpful talents. If you drop your pet down a level, you would have to redo epic level, when you got the selfish talent at baby to teen, making you do 8x more training than you had to to get the selfish talent in the first place. If you redo a trait, it should be the same experience that you worked for it, not redoing epic OVER and OVER.

This is a well-though-out plan, but 1) the gold cost would be astronomically high for obvious reasons (this would cause trouble from lower lvl students with less gold) and 2) the hatching demand would decrease (because if your FOG Uicorn can just relearn spritely, what is the use of hatching)? Good idea,, though!!!
