would someone please clarify how to use chantment cards like "tough"? currently when i'm dueling i can click on the card & combine it with an attack card, but then i can't get the combo to target an enemy. do i have to wait another round? i am missing a step?

No, you are doing it correctly...the reason why you may not be able to cast is that the pip cost for casting is too high. But, if you could cast the card before the enhancement, you should be able to afterward. You may enchant cards you don't have enough pips for yet, as it is a way to clear out cards to have 'fresh' cards brought into your deck.
