I was wondering i heard that it depends on the game you train your pet on decides the bonuses it gets when it moves to a higher level.. Is this true or does it matter....

It does give bonuses, some pets have amazing talents, there are talents for extra health, mana, damage, accuracy, defense, healing spell, bubble spell, and more.

Leveling up a pet can give some nice abilities. Sometimes the pet learns a talent that does not help you at all.

You may notice that pets have statisitcs strength, agility, ect. The pet talents that give bonuses to your wizard are dependent on these statistics.
If you hover your cursor over the statistic name it will tell you which bonuses it affects. For example strength and willpower affect talents that give a bonus to damage. If your pet has alot of willpower and strength, then talents like fire giver will give a higher bonus to your wizards fire damage.

Each game boosts a different statistic: the maze game boosts intelligence, the cannon game willpower, the dance game agility, and the drop game strength.
when you finish a game you earn up to four points in your pets statistics according to which game you played and which location you picked to play it in. After you finish playing the game you get a chance to feed your pet, this further raises pet statistics. Points earned in the game and from pet snacks give an equal amount of pet experience. When a pets statistics are maxed games and pet snacks only raise pet experience.

Talents are determined by the pet's parentage/lineage not the game you play. If there's a talent you want and your pet doesn't have it, you can hatch with a pet taht does have the talent. For example, Spritely is a talent where your pet heals you during battle. You can hatch with a pet that has spritely to get it. There's a chance you won't get a talent the first or even second time, so hatching again may be necessary.

In short, none of the minigames will give your pet a talent. The minigames help pets learn the talents they were born with.
