Accuracy/Power confusion

Two weeks ago, I learned a balance attack. This spell was at 90% accuracy and lower than average power.

Now I make my own balance character, and balance accuracy was 85% and power was lower than average. (Scarab was 65-105 instead of 85-125)

Firecat was also listed lower in power. (80-120 instead of 95-135)

I'm so confused. :(

It was either:

A: A treasure card or
B: The wand you get from the start of game makes the spells in it stronger so low levels can actually effectively kill monsters :) Same with Amulets. Fire Elf Amulet for example does 55 + 240 dmg over 3 rounds. instead of 50 + 210 :)

spells found with equipment or treasure cards are usually more powerful than those you learn from school.
