I read the new announcement about the gobbler pet giveaway and went to several of the sites shown. My question and concern/problem is: Why are we required to give our character name and email address? The email address I can understand but why should we give our Char name? Wouldnt it be like giving your game info and being at risk of having something taken away or added that shouldnt be (aka hacked or illegal items). Wouldnt it be better just to have the sites give the winner(s) a game code they can enter just like they do with the game cards and promo's?
I just think that giving away your character name is like giving away info you shouldnt have to give.
The sites will be given codes that they can pass along to the winners, and please keep in mind they are asking for your character name, not your account name.
Since character names are not unique, this is not identifiable information. The fansites just need a name to display for the winners, and the character name is the safest way to display that information.
