Ok, i am confused

i have my first Master Artisan quest and when i did a transmute lotus it said i finished it and when i went to the guy it was still grey. I know allot of people had the same problem, will this affect turning in the quest when i actually finish it?

You actually have to MAKE and HAVE whatever it is that is listed in the quest. There is a bug that sometimes counts a Transmute as one of your quest items, but the quest-giver ALWAYS wants and takes from your backpack whatever it is they asked for.

It seems semi-rare, I have had it happen once in about 7-8 crafting. It does not seem to affect anything.

No, it doesnt affect anything. It happened to me, too. I tried to turn it in, but i couldnt. :x
