Would like an official Reply to this post. Players are tired of loosing 25 rank points in a pvp match.

I have some reservations about this system.

So when queuing ranked arena during slow hours, someone is bound to get the short end of the stick.

I would much rather a 'no match' found message than having the odds stacked tenfold against me.

Yesterday i was on my myth wiz(lvl 10) and got paired with a lvl 48 wizard.. who was built to the teethe for pvp.

I was thinking the same thing! I'd much rather see "no match" as well and save myself time. The other games I love to play (like Fantasy Tennis 2) have a much tighter way of matching opponents. I've only played a few times and got matched with people who can kill me in 1 or 2 hits. I exit now that I can see it coming. It's like handing over tickets and ranking for free. And they know it. It's not them complaining. They defend the system. They even boast and taunt before the game even starts because they know you have little to no chance.

When I was matched close to my level, it was fun. I won some, I lost some. If these matches were tight, I'd want to play it all the time (despite the abundance of obnoxious and rude players here-I try to remember to turn off chat). But I rarely play pvp here. The odds are like a Vegas casino. :x

I have another problem with the arena matches. Based on the immature level of the conversations I witness, I'm guessing a lot of this comes from snotty teens (or 'adults' who never grew up). But I see this a lot. My 10 year old was PvPing today and he used his minion. The obnoxious opponent yelled, in CAPS, the entire match 'CHEATER' over and over. Didn't even say gg back at the end, just kept saying he cheated. Maybe some just don't get it or they just don't care that very young kids play this game a lot. Little kids don't know all your little unwritten rules. They know what they see in the help menu.

If minions weren't legal, they wouldn't work just like potions! I wish there were a section for younger kids who don't know advanced strategy yet. The minion haters could have their own section. It's silly. Games are supposed to be fun. But it can be a real struggle here. It's also not cool to try and swear around the filters to let a little kid know how he 'flocked up' the whole game by using a trap at the wrong time or how much he sucks. I swear, people act like it's real life! I'd say if you don't like how someone plays, just move on. I don't get the need to insult and badger. I'm guessing it's all some kids know in their home lives. I try to tell my son to ignore it and turn chat off while in PVP. We're lucky to have some nice real life friends that play here and we hope to get some more from K12 to play with.

Thanks Gamma for a very interesting explanation.

Do you have any idea of the best times to log on to play PvP matches? By that, I mean when are the most PvP players online?

I live in the UK and due to time differences and the odd times I can log on to play, I can't figure out the best time. I assume most players are in the US, and will log on during the day - but at what times?

Is it best to log on when kids come home from school, in the evening after they've eaten and done their homework, or to wait till later when the older players (who perhaps are more likely to be subscribers) are online?

Basically, when is the Ranked Arena busiest?

Around 4:00 - 6:00

I'm not quite sure that the current system of points is effective, because i am fighting against people much higher level and lower ranking and they beat me and take a lot of my ranking away!

Please look into fixing this as i believe it is more important than the other updates that you have done!!!

PVP stinks. It's gotten so the super powerful players take a sick pride in battling everyone else below them. By BATTLE I mean not attacking for 10 mins until the have a dozen pips then hitting with a 3000 point attack. What's the point in that. A battle is a back and fourth interacting not a pip saving contest! I am protesting and boycotting PVP! Join me brothers and sisters!

well whenever i play i fell unlucky because i always seem to face a grandmaster and a lvl one but i am a seventeen so the grandmaster knocks my team out one hit

Same with me. somehow I always end up fighting a legendary when I'm only lvl 50 or something. It's like legendaries are swarming to the pvp.

Not sure I understand the matching system. I just got out of a RANKED fight. I had a fight within 20 sec of joining the pool. (thats good) The BAD? I'm a lvl 16 and was pitted against a Lvl 32. I have Just at 1000hp and he had 2200hp ???? How is this a fair fight. I made it to CPT rank by fighting agaisnt lvl's just below me to levels withing 10 levels higher. BUT 15 levels+ higher??? How is this a fair ranking system? I would rather wait 5+ min and get a fair fight then to be thrown into a fight I cannot win. I simply do not have enough cards in the deck I have at lvl 16 to defeat someone that has 2200hp and almost twice my cards. Can they be beaten? SURE, with a deck full of treasures and someone that has never played before - and then it's still hard because of the HP & card difference.

My point here: I don't mind a level range since I'm a higher rank, but something needs to be done about the eccessive level range. You can be the best player ever in the game, BUT if you take the best player with 1000hp and 20 cards - pit him/her against 2500hp and 40 cards? The outlook is not very great. Some people will say " well I can do it" Sure you can if the other person is AFK to make a snack or go tinkle!

You took the advantage away from us when you started limiting card trades and treasure card levels. Now you need to even the other side of the field by NOT pitting lvl 10's against lvl 30's.

It isin't really that hard when i was 38 i fought and beat grandmasters in arena now i'm a 45 and i fight legendary but it still isin't very hard.
But i suppose if your a level 10 and you fight a 20 level the decks make a diffrence.

I love arena it is a WHOLE different style of fighting, treasure cards are fare game and so are pet spells, reason being is, is that even if a low level wizard has access to MUCH higher spells the pip loss is just as great too, it evens things out.
Once they attack and have no pips you attack and take them out or force them to use what ever pips they have left to heal, the effect and result is still the same.

My gripe is the point gain/loss system, if I am a grandmaster private fighting a level 25 warlord and win, I don’t see how it is fare that I receive 30 points from them. And in return the level 25 warlord if they win only gets 2 points, That kind of spread is just plain INSAINE!

How about this for a simple fix and would not take much programming to do.
Leave the match up system as is I love fighting much higher wizards than I.
But for ever level higher than the winner the points earned is increased by say 10%, and just the opposite for every level lower than the winner the points are decreased by 10% as well.
This would not only keep more people interested in PvP but would also decrease the rage and temptation to verbally abuse your opponents for stripping them of all their hard earned points. I can understand why they get MAD too.
True story too " It took my level 15 wizard (Capt) 9 fights to earn 25 points at an average of 15 min a fight took me over 2 and a half hours of arena to do this, on the 10th fight I was matched up against a level 40 wizard (private) with a record of 1 wins 2 loss. She Smashes me is 4 rounds and I lost 30 points." Now I don't mind loosing, it was a fair fight she hit me when I had no shields, (oh well that's arena for yah ) But to have lost 30 pints in 2 min after working so stinking hard for 2 1/2 hours Come on and tell me THAT'S FARE!

For matches of 2v2 or higher, the system will average out the determining factors for all the participants and attempt to match up players to the best teams and opponents that are available. The more players who are online and participating in the Player vs Player feature, the more closely the teams will be matched. When there are fewer players participating in the Player vs Player feature, the team members will be more varied and the differences between opponents will be larger.

I was just watching a duel and it was a lvl 35 and a lvl 36 against 2 grand masters.

When i WAS barely a warlord, i got teamed up in 4v4 with privates. I lost warlord and i have been struggling since. Can you make it to were your team mates and oppnents are the same rank, unless its a friends match?

Why are lower levels getting paired with high levels? Plain and simple. Because there arent much outthere that are interested in PVP. So what KI did is to get as much pair as possible, which in the end discouraging more people to PVP and staying away from it. Also the rank awarding could be very frustrating. A level 16 warlord against a private legendary is clearly a no match. The deck and spells available to the legendary is clearly a great advantage. Given this situation, KI awards the legendary at least 15 rank points if he wins, and a paltry 1 or 2 rank points for level 16 warlord if he wins ( a big IF).

What KI needs to do is to come up with a new PVP system that will encourage more wizards to join and not just lets make a pair so they can play cause this clearly discouraging more players (including me)
.
One idea, player should have the option to find a match within his level, or go beyond his level (at least give him that option).

Rank should be based on winning percentages than "points" this way a lose is a lose, a win is a win. If a player so decide to go up over his level, then award him extra point if he wins, but as a consequence, he will also lose extra point (by taking that risk) if he lost. This way, we control what we can win, and what we can lost.

Continuing my post, if the wizard decide to join a tier lower than his level, he will lose big points and win little.
KI should also create a cap that allows teaming up. Why do you think there are level 1 warlords in complete gear? Because most of the time, they team up with a ranked down experienced higher level wizard (grand, or legendary with lower than 500 private rank), that will get them at the highest, a pair of magus or lower. Two magus or lower will be no match against the grand or legendary. KI should not allow a level 1 and a grand to team up! Teaming up should be within certain levels.

My two cents for you KI which may make me come back and play the game again.
