A Lock for Plants

Ok, my fellow wizards if you think this is a good idea, please make some noise.
There are a lot of fun plants that I would like to plant in my houses, but I don't need what they give and I don't want to spend the energy to keep them alive.
Between plants, training pets, and fishing I always seem to be energy poor.
I am hoping for a lock for them so they won't give us anything and they wouldn't take any energy.
I would happly go back over my nine houses and put plants everywhere.
Sounds fun to me, how about you guys, what do you think?

Second Spring, makes Elder plants look like Adults. They remain like that without needs forever until you harvest them.

Second Spring isn't a very good workaround. If he's energy poor, he'll never have 50 energy to spare to cast the spell once, let alone on his house that he wants to fill with needless plants. Plus, you can't prevent accidental harvests of Second Spring plants, so just one slip-up and all your work to get those plants to elder is wasted. A plant lock would be a more fitting solution.
